Rutgers Blasts Imus' "Despicable" Remarks

"Unless they've given 'ho' a whole new definition, that's not what I am," said player Kia Vaughn.

Click here to listen to the Rutgers basketball coach put Imus and people like him to shame. Her message is amazing.

The Rutgers women's basketball teams identifies Imus' remarks as not only raciest but sexist.

Imus scrambles, soon to be made aware of how far reaching his raciest and sexist attitudes are.

Food For Thought.....
Who has the right to use to word "Ho" without repercussion?

I actually found the Imus comment not very shocking. He's always making crazy comments. Now, Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, Isaiah Washington... those were surprises.

And they also followed the same pattern of: nasty remark/outrage/weak apology/minority group response/more in-depth apology or press conference/mild acceptance/back to business as usual.

While it's difficult in assigning who's really to blame - bad parenting? double standards? media obsession? - I find that it's fairly easy for me to write a letter to voice my opinion. It may or may not generate any action, but I get to say what's on my mind and how much comments like that hurt.

We can't control what's said in the privacy of people's homes, but we can control what we choose to hear on a radion station.
