I hate to see the summer end in spite of the heat of which I am no fan of. Overall it's been fun for me. I worked a little (and that's my favorite kind of work) and hung out with the nieces. I even made it to NYC once even though I almost passed out on the sidewalk from a heat stroke. I watched a lot of reality TV and surfed dish/dirt sites, like the Musto's column in the Village Voice and World of Wonder. The frivilous, meaningless lives of the stars was where my head was at this summer. I can barely allow myself to think about the occupation in Iraq. This Christian Right can piss me off on a daily basis if I let them.

So reality sets in and I start my new job on Sept. 6th. I had an in service day with my new employers yesterday and it went well. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can put in lots of hassle free time at this place. One bit of shocking news was they have a union. I had no idea. No one in HR mentioned the union to me, I guess thats no too shocking, right? It should make for an exciting year. Lots of drama amongst my co-workers I'm sure. Over the years, I've mastered the art of staying out of that stuff. Mums the word on good ole Liz Fine. If you don't know me outside of work, then you don't know me. Oh I'm pleasent and friendly enough, but people usually think I'm "quiet."

This summer brought about its share of new beginnings for me. I have made some connections with people I value and look forward to working with. I put some highlights in my hair and made myself available to friends in their time of need. Bonding always feels nice. I let some old stuff go and cut myself some slack. I really did'nt post that much this summer because my laptop quit on me and blah, blah, blah.

I'm looking forward to hanging out in NYC, and watching that new prison drama (though nothing will replace OZ). I guess its exciting just knowing that I'm available for whatever the Fall season brings. Don't worry, I'll be keeping you posted.
